What does it take to host a 1 day workshop?

    • Fiction (for teens and adults)
    • Memoir Writing
  2.  Pick a price
    • $65 for 5 -9 attendees (local to Tulsa and surrounding area)
    • $50 for 10 or more attendees, not including host
  3. Find a location
  4. Be coached on how to invite and ask to use a facility for free.
  5. Get trained how to hold a successful workshop from registration to
  6. Attend for FREE!

Once you’ve completed steps 1 – 5, I take over the conference.

Currently, I’m holding the conferences within a 4-hour driving distance. Here are the current locations.

Oklahoma : Tulsa and surrounding area through, Kansas, Arkansas, DFW area.
Texas:  DFW and surrounding area
Missouri: Tulsa through Springfield/Branson area

P.L.A.Y. with Your Words
Every novel contains four elements. If one is missing, then your story is incomplete. In this workshop, you will learn to P.L.A.Y. with your words to discover the story you want to tell.

What is the Theme of your book?
Theme is your message you want to share with your reader. If done well, the theme should be something your writer ponders after he puts the book down.

Creating Dynamic Characters

Great stories start with great characters. Using Gina’s unique B.E.S.T. F.R.I.E.N.D. approach, you will explore your fictional or nonfiction character to get down to the heart and soul of your story, and craft the perfect plot for your dynamic character.

Breathing Life into Your Location
When writing your story, location (setting) is important. So is making your location come alive in the reader’s mind. Learn the techniques that will bring your setting to life.

Plotting with the G.A.M.E. of L.I.F.E.
Plot is what happens to your character. This is the tricky part of writing a story, but it’s also the most exciting because we’ll be learning it playing the G.A.M.E. of L.I.F.E. It is suggested you read or watch The Hunger Games and/or The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We will take specific examples from each movie and show where different scenes fall into the G.A.M.E. O.F. L.I.F.E.

G.O. F.I.S.H. How to Hook Your Reader
Just like a fish on a hook can’t swim away, as writers, we need to write great “hooks” (opening paragraphs) so our readers won’t get away! Come learn how to hook your reader and have them turning the page for more.

Improving Your Game Ever wonder why you’re pulled into one story and can put down another? In this session, you will learn how to take your writing from “how” to “wow” and write prose that pull readers in and won’t let them go.
