I’m a mom learning to balance my family, faith, and writing career.

I’m Calling it Quits!

Life has gotten crazy with trying to be a good mom to my kids, writing, and managing all my blogs, something has got to go. So I’ve decided to after this WIP, I’m kissing my fiction career goodbye and blogging goodbye! It’s apparent I can’t do everything well, so I have to let some things go… You dear readers have been wonderful and I hope you understand when I say…

APRIL FOOL’s

I couldn’t resist! And while I probably should give up these things, I won’t be, but I will try and set new boundaries after I turn in my WIP! More about that when I actually turn it in! Pray for me that I will edit fast and accurately, I’m really ready to let this baby fly! Can’t wait to kick it from the nest!

Have a great April First!

I read your post - and thought, ‘No, surely not!’. I’m in utter amazement at how you manage to do all you do and know you must be tearing your hair out (if you had time!); but I also admire your knowing need to fulfill your creative side and if we don’t allow time to provide and outlet for it then so many of us feel incomplete.

I personally don’t allow enough time for my creative outlet and am feeling drained as a result. I know I need to stop giving everything I have to my children and start listening more to my inner voice. By doing that, I’ll be a better person and a better mother.

Sarah, I struggle with the guilt of not giving my all to my children, but know that if I neglected ME time I would go insane. My biggest struggle is the balance of me time and kid time. I tend to be selfish and would rather sit in front of the computer for hours, BUT I need to remind myself that for about 10 years while my kids were really young I hardly wrote at all and there was no such thing as blogging for me. I started all this when my youngest was 2 and I started homeschooling. I probably should have waited another couple of years, but then I wouldn’t have learned what I did in the process!

Whew! The April Fools part didn’t show up in my RSS reader, so I popped over to check.

I just found your blog today! Very funny, I use to work with Eric when he was at RBC in Orlando! And I recently wrote a children’s book as well but it is still in the early stages. I love your blog and will come back
