I’m a mom learning to balance my family, faith, and writing career.

Hair Today…Gone Tomorrow??

I think it’s time for a hair cut! My hair is all the way down to my waist and my hairdresser mom (who’s living with us while her hand heals) keeps bugging me about it. About three years ago I let it get this long and then I donated it to Locks of Love. It looked like this several months after I cut it! I’m not wanting to go that short again.

When it started growing again, I thought I would do it again. Well, I think it’s long enough to donate. What do you think?

I’d like your help picking a new hairdo! My hair has pretty much looked the same all of my life because I don’t blow it straight! So keep that in mind when you send your suggestions via a link to a photo on the web. Sorry, there’s no prize for this contest and there’s a chance I may not even pick a winner from your suggestions, I just thought it would be fun! And please don’t stare too long at the lousy photo below!

OOHHHH you have such lovely hair! Lovely!!!! I cannot give you pointers, because my hair always looks like I’ve spent too much time with the rain (live in Oregon), the blow dryer (wet hair!) or the wind. Sigh. I’ve always wanted to have a hairstyle that was cute and stayed put! I’m forty and I’m still waiting :)

I’ve always loved this Alyssa Milano style…but I am a child
    of the 80’s and 90’s, too. :-)

p.s. - having always had stick straight, thin, thin, thin
hair, I could use some pointers in dealing with my
daughter’s thick, curly long hair. She is only two and a
half, but her hair is already thick enough and long enough
for me to pull it back in one of my banana clips! :-)

Gina, your hair looks great long…it looks great short too!
I can’t believe your hair is that long already! I think when I see you, you must have it up. I think I am going to vote with the Alissa Milano cut…I think it would look really cute…and your hair grows so quickly, what do you have to worry about!? So,,,what does your Mom say? By the way I think I want her to cut mine shorter in the back/ Karen

Minnie Driver or Amy Brenneman are two people I think have really nice
curly haircuts. Probably not what you were looking for but they have curly hair.
And I think I read that you don’t straigthen your hair.

I did find a pic of very colorful curly hair but didn’t think that was what you wanted either.

My hair is just freshly cut and colored. New glasses too. If I can get a good pic of me
I will put it on my blog and let you know here.

I’m not going to be good at this, Gina, because I like short hair. I even like your first photo.

My daughter inherited my husband’s natural curls and she did the same as you - let it grow almost to her waist and donated it to Locks of Love. Her hair was then shorter than yours, and I loved it.

That being said, I like the styles in both Tonya’s and Bev’s links. Whatever you do, I’m sure it will look good!
