I recently received an email from an old college friend who asked if I was a single mom. I was really perplexed as to why he would ask that. I mention my husband on my blog, occasionally. But for privacy reasons I’ve deliberately kept his name and details about him off my blog.

Then I visited my own ABOUT page and realized my husband isn’t mentioned here. So for the record, I’ll be married 16 years this next year to my husband whom I have yet to name He’s an awesome dad who goes above and beyond the call of fatherly duty playing, teaching and carting the kids around every where he goes. All four of them. When my youngest was a newborn he offered to take all of them miniature golfing. ALL of them. I couldn’t see him pushing a stroller around a mini-golf course AND running after a 2, 5 and 7 year old. I told him to take the boys, and Grace stayed with me. But he wouldn’t have balked about taking them all. That’s the kind of guy he is!

Statement of Faith

If you’re wondering, I am a Born-Again, Bible believing, Jesus loving Christian.

I believe in the Godhead of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit as revealed in the Holy Bible. I believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and my only means for the forgiveness of my sins and my salvation. My salvation is found in no one but Jesus Christ.

I believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.

I believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, and to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. Humankind, originally created in the image and likeness of God, fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe salvation has been provided only through Jesus Christ. Those who repent and believe in Him are united with Christ through the Holy Spirit and are thereby regenerated (born again), justified, sanctified and granted the gift of eternal life as adopted children of God.
