Summer Time?

Summer should be a relaxing time spent by the side of the pool sipping lemonade, lazily reading a novel while my kids splash and play.

Reality check! I’ve been “on vacation” visiting family for half the summer, it’s been raining here like it’s Seattle, and we don’t have a pool. Cooling off means carting my kids to the local water park which is anything but relaxing, and I can forget the poolside novel. My eyes need to be glued to my five year old who loves to run off on her own.

After homeschooling all year (and still finishing phonics lessons this summer), I’ve determined to write the summer away. My goal is to finish my cozy mystery currently a little over the half way mark, write the synopsis, and outline a non-fiction proposal all by the end of September.

Then what am I still doing here. There’s work to be done!

  • What happened to summer, that’s what I’d like to know! Like you, mine has sped by, and I so wanted both the writing time AND the relaxation time. Now I’m seriously longing for fall and the back to school routine. I wonder, now that the kids are older, if summer will ever be a lazy event again!

I like your writing blog, what a great idea to separate the two. God bless on your cozy mystery, hope you are tearing away at it! (in a good way!) ;)
