Pre-Teen and Teen No Hassle Birthday Parties

We’ve done it all, from renting ponies for a backyard cowboy party to having a dozen princesses over (the kiddie variety) and building a huge cardboard maze castle tunnel.

But with four kids and the older ones getting too old for backyard birthdays, we’ve decided a couple of years ago that Chris (12) and Joey (10) would invite a couple of friends out for fun and then maybe one or two for a sleep over.

The boys have enjoyed going to Laser Tag, Paintball, and places like Incredible Pizza with their friends. One year Joey invited ONE friend for a weekend of fun. We added a movie and bowling plus a sleepover to the event.

Last year Chris invited six friends to a hotel that had miniature golf, swimming and PS2 in the three room suite! My hubby chaperoned the kids and they had a blast.

The only down side to this type of party is that it makes for boring scrapbook pages! But it sure saves us a lot of hassles and sometimes a lot of money.
