Because Sometimes Interruptions are God’s Way of Redirecting Our Focus!

Losing Steam!

Every since I got back from the ACFW conference my drive to blog and do all things that are associated with blogs/webring maintenance is dwindling. Not sure if it’s a good thing or not, but it could be because I’m more interested in working on my WIPs and homeschooling.

The not so fun side of blogging is getting to me like the many requests I get to help support this organization or help promote this product. Of course I love to promote things I love, but when I get too many requests I start to get overwhelmed and it’s so hard to say NO to a good cause, but my roommate at ACFW shared something with me that I’m trying to implement. Some things are good, and other things are great. She said it so much better than I did, but the point is I need to choose where to spend my time. I’ve always known that, I just feel a little shifting and balancing coming back into my life.

I get stressed out when I see so many emails in my inbox and I leave them there because I don’t know how to respond. Do I ignore certain requests, or decline…sometimes I wait so long they expire! So all that to say, I may be loosing a little blogging steam (specially the maintenance stuff) but I’m gaining momentum in my writing. I’m sure those of you who are still reading this blog probably won’t see a much of a difference, but I needed to express that for my own sanity.

Does anyone else out there have this problem?

I’m a newbie to the blogging worl and I love doing it, but I hate organizing my site. I’m not using blogging software, so it’s been hard. The sitebuilder I’m using takes too much. I’d switch if I could figure out how. I guess I’ll keep plugging away.

I can’t imagine having to deal with all the mail and request associated with your blog. I’m sure you’ll focus on what’s most important. I think a great lesson I’m learning is that it’s ok to say NO to some things.

My blog couldn’t be easier to maintain, yet just finding time and creativity to blog is my challenge this year. I still have ideas and thoughts I want to get out, but by the time I sit down to write I get caught up in emails, etc, and lose the “moment”!

I definitely understand you losing steam on blogging and maintaining the webring, etc. It’s too big of a job, imo…but you have done awesome at it! Writer…Interrupted is evidence of that!
