Snow Storm Take Three

Okay, enough is enough! This is our third snow storm of the season, second of the new year. And it’s not like where we live to get this much snow. Sometime in January the kids play outside without their coats! Now when the snow from the ice storm two weeks ago was almost gone except for those  mud piles in parking lots, it decides to fall again.

Last time we were stranded for a whole week. Luckily the weather cleared for my mom’s visit and then, yesterday it decided to snow ALL day! At least it was snow this time and not sleet and although most of the schools were open today, I didn’t feel like getting out in the below freezing weather to take Grace to preschool, though it’s less than a mile away.

After lunch I sent the kids out to play in the snow. They were going stir crazy and needed some physical play time. (I could use some quiet myself!) Last time they couldn’t play in the snow because it was all ice. People were getting injured by falling ice all over town. Our canvas canopy roof collapsed under the weight of the ice. But the kids seem to be having fun and the snow is starting to fall again.

They’re not too happy having to do school on a snowy day, but when all the other kids have to extend their school year, they’ll be smiling!
