Five Questions and Answers

Beck asked if anyone wanted her to interview them and I must not have been in my right mind because I said yes. If I had been in my right mind I would have know that Beck would come up with some creative questions that would take a little more thought than I’m used to. So here it goes…

If you could own one thing that one of your friends’ own, what would you choose?

First of all you’re assuming I have friends outside of the internet. As of late, not many or I guess I should say I don’t really make time for many since I hardly have time to play with friends.

But I would have to say (besides a brand new big house), an ipod. My friend Karen just got one and I was under the impression those things were just for music. Then I learned she downloaded books. BOOKS! So what better way to get more reading in than by getting an ipod. I’ve even told my hubby I wanted one for Mother’s Day. After his initial shock wore down, he managed to say, “I’ve never spent that much for Mother’s Day.” I just smiled and said, “But aren’t I worth it?” I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Tell me the song lyrics which best go with your life, or with an experience you’ve had.

Wow! So many songs for different seasons of my life. But a year ago when I decided to give up writing and put my family first, I heard Nicole C. Mullins song on the radio as I drove away from the Bible study and I almost had to pull over because I couldn’t see through the tears.

I’m so very ordinary
Nothing special on my own
I have never walked on water
I have never calmed a storm
Sometimes I’m hiding away from the madness around me
Like a child who’s afraid of the dark

But when I call on Jesus
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles and soar
When I call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall
‘Cause He’ll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call

Weary brother
Broken daughter
Widowed, widowed lover
You’re not alone
If you’re tired and scared of the madness around you
If you can’t find the strength to carry on

repeat chorus

Call Him in the mornin’
In the afternoon time
Late in the evenin’
He’ll be there
When your heart is broken
And you feel discouraged
You can just remember that He said
He’ll be there

More recently it’s Jesus, Take the Wheel which is my Heart’s Cry in the side bar! You can watch the video for yourself!

Which actress – past or present – should play you in the movie version of your life?

Extremely tough question, ’cause there’s the way I’d like others to see me and then there’s reality.

In my younger years Tina Majorino, the girl who played in Andre and WaterWorld, though she’s grown up now. 🙂

My teen years, how about Hallie Eisenber, though I wasn’t as skinny as she is, but it’s hard to find an actress that has hips and isn’t a stick figure.

and for my adult years Nia Vardalos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

From all the people that you know, which person has a name that truly suits them and why?

My friend and college roommate, Jana Banana. She probably was my polar opposite and other half in many ways . You know the sanguine life of the party type. I tagged along with her and fooled everyone into thinking I was outgoing and I was when I was with her. People got the two of us mixed up with is baffling since she’s tall, blonde and blue-eyed, and I’m short, dark and brown-eyed.

Nowadays she goes by her French name Gigi. I guess that fits her also because she’s always changing and moving and growing and living that sanguine life! She’s up for adventure and lovs France!
Which childhood book had the most influence on you?

I’d have to say Catcher in the Rye because after I read it I knew I wanted to be a writer for real! There was something about that book that touched me on a deep level and I have no clue what it was. I still have it in my attic and one day I’ll dust it off and revisit my not so fun adolescense.
