Shoutlife and Writer…Interrupted Forums
I’d been hearing a lot of buzz about something called Shoutlife. A networking community for Christian writers, sort of like My Space but with out the weirdos and questionable subject matter. I clicked on over a couple of times, trying to figure out what the big hype was about, and I just didn’t get it.
But I kept hearing more and more about how wonderful Shoutlife was, so I decided to sign up. I filled out my profile, but when it got to the CITY, STATE section, I froze. I didn’t want to advertise my whereabouts, even on a Christian website, so I hit delete.
Yet I couldn’t get away from the members flooding the ACFW loop with rave reviews. I really took notice when a multipublished author wanted to join but had concerns about advertising her city and state of residence. That’s when someone suggested she fill in, SOMEWHERE and her state. It piqued my interest enought that I went on line and completed my profile coming up with the perfect CITY, STATE combination…Born and bred in, NY. It was the truth without revealing where I actually reside.
So now that I’m a bonafide member of Shoutlife and have over 150 friends, I can see what all the hoopla is about. Think Writer…Interrupted but bigger, better and more up close and personal. I won’t go into all the details on how Shoutlife can boost your exsposure and expand your networking, but it does. And every wanna-be Christian author should jump on this bandwagon.
Another benefits are the groups and forums. I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a Writer…Interrupted forum where members can dialogue and encourage one another, and Shoutlife gave me the opportunity to give the group a test drive. So if you want to check out what’s going on with the Writer…Interrupted forum, you’ve got to join Shoutlife first and then join the group! And don’t forget to invite me as a friend.
