Let’s Take a Walk
Over the past five years, I’ve learned what it means to rest in the Lord. In the midst of the storms or the battles of life, we can have peace which passes all understanding, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring a rest only the Father can give! No matter where we are in our walk, we can abide in Him.
In that abiding, that dwelling place, we find strength, calmness, rest. We trust Him even when we don’t understand the why of things! On the mountaintop or in the valley, we find a resting place, where we can trust Him. We have strength for the day knowing that He is walking with us, and He will finish that which He has begun. Our part is to trust Him and say, “Yes Lord, this is a new day, a fresh start, a new beginning, let us walk together, let us be one. Teach me, to hear your voice in the midst of life, for it will give me strength.”
Storms and battles of life often drown out the Holy Spirit’s still, small voice. But the Lord teaches us to be attuned to the Spirit, so whether on the mountaintop or in the valley, we will hear the voice that says “Be still and know, and Follow me.” When that peace comes, we can truly say, “It is well with my soul!”
Even when we don’t understand the why of things, we know our Father is moving us forward in His purposes, His directions! Others will see the peace that we have and will want to know the source of our strength. We will share the Lord, Jesus Christ, with them because of what they have seen not by what we have said!
Let us wake each day and walk the journey set before us. Let us learn to hear that still, small voice and say, “Good Morning Father, let us walk with you this day!”
