Those Roaming Eyes
You ever wonder if God is really watching? Have there been times in life when some little voice in your head says, “God missed that one. He musn’t have been paying attention or He never would have let that happen to you”?
Of course we know God is all-knowing and all-seeing, but still at times it seems like some things maybe slip by Him.
Rest assured, they don’t. He doesn’t miss a thing.
I do. I miss a lot. Especially lately. My big dummy head is getting dumber by the day, and I feel like life is sliding by and I’m missing it.
But God sees all. His eyes are constantly roaming the earth. That’s how the Bible puts it. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Wow. God’s eyes are roaming the earth, looking for those who are loyal to Him so He can show Himself strong through them. Again, wow.
That’s something I need to keep in mind and remind myself of. So many times God shows Himself strong through our weakness. He’s not looking for necessarily strong people or talented people or confident people or people with oodles of connections and charisma; He’s looking for loyal people. People who will remain faithful and true through whatever the world throws at them.
Those are the people God can and will use. Those are the people He will show Himself strong through.
