The Wait From Here…

 midweek_motivation_button.jpg

“The wait from this point is 45 minutes.”  Sound familiar?  If you’ve been to any sort of amusement park lately, you know what I’m talking about.  Most popular amusements have the wait time posted at the entrance giving you the option to wait or leave.  You can evaluate the external factors such as temperature, proximity to lunchtime, and number of deodorant wearing folks around and decide if the wait is worth it.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could do the same with our prayers?  Perhaps we could text our supplication to 1-800-Jesus, and in return He could reply with the wait time for that particular prayer. Waiting on Crazy Uncle Fester to come to Christ – The wait from this point: twelve years.  Yeah, sorry Uncle Fester.  I can’t pray that long.  Just kidding.

We are called to wait. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. (Psalm27:4 NIV)  If God told us how long we’d be waiting, it wouldn’t take much faith to follow Him. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

So, as nice as it would be to text Jesus, I’ll throw out the keys and stick to the knees to bring my requests to our Father.  It just takes a little faith.  How about it?  Are you up for the wait?
