Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving day is a great excuse for surrounding yourself with loved ones and reflecting on the big and little blessings of our lives. I love the Jewish Home Blessing, which states:
“May its doors be open to those in need, and its rooms be filled with kindness. May joy shine from its windows. And His presence never leave it.”
Unfortunately, this time of year sometimes represents stress of the extended family variety. If this is the case for you, my heart goes out to you and your loved ones. I hope you’ll be able to give the sacrifice of praise anyway, for those things that are good in your life.
My prayer for me and mine, is that we would be able to put aside ourselves, and instead strive to be a refuge to others, “open to those in need, our hearts and minds filled with kindness, joy shining from our eyes and God’s presence filling our spirits.”
May God be with you and yours this Thanksgiving.
