I’m Ready for Opening Night!
Three days until opening night of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Three days!
Can you tell I’m so ready for this play to be over with? I think the novelty of this particular play wore a while ago, especially since my two oldest are playing the same parts as last year and this is their third year in this play. But for my younger two, it’s their first time in The LWW.
Grace was counting the days til the audition and even I was surprised when she got a small nonspeaking part. Timmy got a small part too. Father Christmas’s Elf. And he’s perfect for the part.
In years past, I enjoyed driving the kids down to the theatre. That meant I had several hours of uninterrupted writing time. That was before my six year old was in the play. This entire six weeks I’ve had to keep a close eye on Grace. I even swore to myself a couple of times that she would not be allowed to audition until she was 8. I might let her this summer. We’ll see.
But since I had to sit through practices without my computer I decided to crochet a blanket for each of the kids. I’m almost finished with the first one. When I figure out where the device to download from my camera to my computer is, I’ll upload a photo.
Right now I better get back to unpacking. Saturday I’m having the entire cast over our home for a cast party!
