The One Day Way
Even before the book by Chantel Hobbs arrived on my doorsteps thanks to Waterbrook Random House God has been speaking to me about taking one day at a time. I’d even committed to changing my life and eating habits one day at a time and then the book shows up! You think it was a God thing?
The One Day Way by Chantel Hobbs is just what I need to continue on this life changing journey of weight loss. If I had to describe it in a word the word would be FREEING! Instead of staring down months of dieting and exercise trying to lose this big amount of weight, I’m concentrating on each day and the small numbers. 2lbs a week for me! Now that doesn’t see too hard, does it? And it’s not like I have a huge amount of weight to lose. 20-30 lbs. But I haven’t been able to do it for 7 years because I’ve been focusing on the big numbers.
Thanks to Chantel and The One Day Way, I’m being encouraged to focus on one day. Today! Not yesterday or tomorrow, but today. So what if I blew it yesterday, today is what matters. I’ve only cracked the surface of the book, but so far (after a week) I’ve been really encouraged.
The book also has practical eating plans and exercises and even encourages me not to deprive myself all the time, so tonight I didn’t. I had pizza (2 1/2 small pieces,) caramel popcorn (1 cup) and earlier ate a snickers bar! And stayed with in my calorie allotment for the day! I track my exercise and calories on Sparkpeople because weight loss is simply a matter of math and making good choices one day at a time!
