Interruptions – Blessings in Disguise
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Interruptions! Lately they seem to be making up ¾ of my days! Babysitting grandchildren, caring for elderly parents, driving hither and thither, dealing with new medications and their side effects on my loved ones… that’s my list! I bet yours is different, but just as long.
Those interruptions have led me to make changes in my writing schedule – cutting back here, pushing off there. At first, I was rather sad about it. But then God reminded me that “my ways are not His ways” but His ways are always best.
Shortly thereafter, I decided to get serious about that book I’d been wanting to write but didn’t have time to start. So I created a new page in Evernote for book notes, started carrying around a notebook again when out on errands, and am praying for God to give me wisdom as I work on this, as well as use me how HE wants to. It may still take awhile, but I will keep persevering in this dream that I truly believe God has given to me.
How about you? What is interrupting you right now? Is it “closing a door, but opening a window?” We’d love to hear!
Dear Father, I don’t understand why there seem to be more and more interruptions and I’m not accomplishing all I feel I should be. But I know that I am in Your hands and that I want Your will. I pray that You would lead me in Your Ways, trusting you and praising You at all times. Amen.
