A Dating Manual Disguised as a Rom-Com: The Surprising Audience for Anxious for Love
What happens when men start reading my rom-com written for women? Something surprising… Something I never would have imagined.
The men are actually enjoying it! One male reader devoured it in 12 hours and called it “a manual for dating disguised as a rom-com.” 😄
Here’s his video review
Honestly, I never expected men to be my target audience for Anxious for Love. When I wrote it, I wanted to explore the messy, funny, and hopeful side of modern love from a woman’s perspective. But hearing how men are connecting to it—especially as a kind of “dating manual”—has been both surprising and encouraging.
What I’ve learned is that good storytelling crosses gender lines. Whether it’s about communication, vulnerability, or second chances, people crave authenticity—and humor helps us face the awkward parts of love with a little more grace. But to have men say my book has opened up their eyes and they finally “get” how women think. That is more than I was expecting! See for yourself why men are anxious for love, too!
