Giving Grace
We took the kids to the house the other day (which isn’t officially ours yet) and she was soooo excited.
A couple of months ago Grace kept talking about how she wanted a house that had a porch like grandma. I didn’t know what the appeal was until we drove by a house and she pointed to the “porch” which was actually a balcony.
Well, when we walked into the house, Grace’s eyes lit up. There were TWO balcony’s over looking the back yard from the living room.
Later that week she raided her piggy bank and said “Here, you can have this to help pay for the house.”
My heart just melted with love and pride. Then she asked me if her “collection” could be used to help pay for her house. Her collection is a small tin box filled with library reading metals and fake coins and such. I looked at her and smiled and said, “How sweet of you to give your collection!” Then she pulled out the library metals and asked, “Can these be used for money?” I told her not those, but when she pulled out her fake coins and asked the same question, I said “Yes.”
The look on her face was priceless!
