Never Let Your Kids Pick a Candle Fragrance
I could have gone into my husband’s office and picked a candle from the two young men selling them for charity. But I have too many candles as it is, and I didn’t feel like getting out of the car when I went to pick up my boys at their dad’s office. So I told Chris he could pick the scent. I figured I could give the $15 candle away as a gift. (BTW, I’m not in the habit of spending more than $5 for a candle, but this was for charity.)
I should have kept my mouth shut when I saw the aqua candle. I mean, whose home wouldn’t clash with an aqua candle? No one I knew! But I couldn’t keep my mouth shut, especially when my son insisted I take a whiff. Fruity sweet! Blech!
Chris inhaled the candle and smiled. “It’s smells like Tropical Skittles!
And it did!
He inhaled and smiled again. “Can we keep it, mom? I can light it in my room.”
Not on your life, buddy!
Well, if it makes him that happy, I just might have to keep that candle on hand and use if when on him often. He seemed to enjoying sniffing it without a flame, and I guess there are worse things a preteen could be sniffing!
