It’s Official

It finally happened. Ruby Among Us officially released last week. What did it feel like? There are no words, but I will try. I walked into our local Barnes and Noble because I had already heard my book was spotted on shelves there by friends. We have other stores in town who are also going to carry the book, but this happened to be the first sighting.

I was with my dad and my sister-in-law at the time and we found it in the Christian Fiction section of the store and then on the Local Author table near the front. I was excited, but calm, even when I saw C.J. Box’s book on the other side of the table. Then I started to spot other notable authors from the region on the same table beside my book and my heart beat jumped a little. But when the employee helping me said something about what a huge, big deal this must be and how wonderful I must feel, I got all teary!!

It was surreal and it still is. I’ve received calls about sightings too. My sister-in-law was in Joplin, Missouri yesterday and found Ruby Among Us at Books A Million. She was so proud and said it was already turned out! And my friend Ronda called from a visit to Loveland, Colorado on Sunday to tell me she found it  at Borders. Then a reader emailed me from Madison, Wisconsin to tell me she had spotted it too and bought a copy on her vacation to read!

I haven’t turned into a diva yet, but what a kick it is to hear about my book in stores. Have you seen it? If so, where? Was it easy to find?
