Dangerous Prayer & Growing Pains

I prayed a dangerous prayer years ago. “God, whatever it takes.” And believe me, it took a lot to get to where I am today. Great lessons learned, but lessons I never wish to revisit again.

I’m in such a good place, but I felt the “shift” the first week of January. It’s time to go to the next level in all areas of my life. That’s both scary and exciting because I know it will mean discomfort, not pain and suffering, but a stretching and molding and refining into who I need to be to go where I need to go, to be who I need to be, to contribute what I need to to the world, maybe one person at a time.

I don’t want to fight “the more” that needs to be done, what is already being done inside me, because that will only cause suffering and delay the process. So I embrace it, pray for guidance in the process, and look for ways to live and love in the moment.

How about you? Are you tired of the pain and suffering? Do you know you have the power to make it stop? It won’t be easy. And it won’t happen overnight. But you can find the healing you need to move forward in wholeness and peace. You just have to want it more than you want the familiarity of the pain you have right now. You have to want growth and growth is painful. You have to be ready. And when you are, you need to pray dangerous prayers.

Don’t worry, you won’t be alone. I’ll be here to hold your hand if you need.

From the day I received my first diary in the second grade, I've had a passion expressing myself through writing. Later as a journalist and novelist, I realized words, if used powerfully, have the ability to touch, stir, and reach from the depths of one soul to another. Today as a writing and health coach, I inspire others to live their extraordinary life and encourage them to share their unique stories.
