Break Unhealthy Generational Cycle
It takes a strong and determined person, sick and tired of repeating and perpetuation the unhealthy cycle they grew up with, who gets so uncomfortable in their own familiar pain, to throw up their hands in surrender and pray “whatever it takes.” I did that almost 7 years ago. It took confronting the ugliest parts of myself, and despite those around me not changing, I still dove deep not knowing if I would drown. Most days it felt like I was sinking, on the good days barely treading water, but I learned that I was strong enough and when there was no one at all to lean on (except my therapist), Jesus was there, keeping me a float.
If you’re tired of your own excuses and unhealthy cycles that you are inadvertently passing on to your future generations, I encourage you to be THE ONE who breaks the cycle. Yes, it will break you first! But oh, the beauty and freedom that waits for you and those that come after you.
